Nashville’s Ride for Reading Week Kick-Off!

We are excited to launch our second annual National Ride for Reading Week in Nashville with Nashville’s Mayor Karl Dean.  We will be delivering books via bicycle to Warner Elementary on Tuesday, May 7th leaving from Two Rivers Skate Park at Noon sharp.  Every volunteer will receive a FREE Ride for Reading t-shirt!
During the week of May 5th-11th there will be 20+ Ride for Reading deliveries happening from Maryland to California!  We are very ecstatic to be kicking off this amazing week right here in Nashville.

You can now wear your support for Ride for Reading and our new professional mountain bike team, featuring Dejay Birtch.  We are excited to be able to offer everyone the opportunity to order and wear our new kits designed by Industrial Strength Marketing and produced by Primal Wear.  It you are interested in order a jersey, shorts, or a whole kit just fill out the form below!  Orders will close on February 28, 2013 at 8:00 am.

A Great November Delivery!

We had another successful delivery in November!  We had 16 volunteers cycle over 1,200 books to the students of Napier Elementary School!  Check out the SmileBox that the school made for us below!

Mayor’s Share a Book!

Saturday, May 19th, join us in the courtyard of the downtown library (615 Church Street) for a fun kick-off of the Mayor’s “Share A Book” reading campaign, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
It’s open to all Nashvillians, all ages, and no library card is required. Come share a book, Nashville!

Volunteer Cyclists Needed for March Delivery!

It is that time again!  Our March book delivery via bicycle is planned for Friday, March 30, 2012 to Inglewood Elementary School.  We will be meeting at Nashville Bicycle Lounge (961 Woodland Street  Nashville, TN 37206) at 11:45 am.  HELMETS ARE REQUIRED TO RIDE!

Volunteer and Bike Shop of the Year!

We are honored to announce our 2011 Volunteer of the Year and the Supporting Bicycle Shop of the year.
Because of her dedication to Ride for Reading through attend almost every book delivery, work days, an other various events we honored Sally Robertson, AKA “The Cycling Librarian”, as our volunteer of the year.  We were excited to present her with a new Jamis commuter bike partially donate by Nashville Bicycle Lounge.
