RfR Week Delivery Riders Needed!

12 April 2012 2 Comments

Ride for Reading is more than excited about the success of participation in Ride for Reading Week 2012!  Right now we have 10 cities across the country who will be hosting book deliveries via bicycle to children who need them.  We have two Nashville based deliveries to choose from!  We would love for volunteers to one or both!

East Nashville Regions Bank Book Delivery to Dan Mills Elementary:  Tuesday, May 8, 2012

Ride for Reading Nashville is looking for volunteer cyclists to help us deliver books to Dan Mills Elementary on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 sponsored by Regions Bank.  We will be departing from the East Nashville Regions Bank branch (599 Gallatin Avenue, Nashville, TN) at 12:15 pm and ride the 4 miles to the school!  We will be joined at the school by a few trials cyclists who will be doing a demonstration.  If you are interested in volunteering please click the link below!  The first 20 volunteers will get a free Ride for Reading t-shirt!    HELMETS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL RIDE FOR READING EVENTS.

Lightning 100/Team Green Book Delivery:  Saturday, May 12, 2012

We are excited to announce this exciting and impactful event with Lightning 100′s Team Green for Ride for Reading Week!  Since these rides normally take place during the school day, we know it’s hard for many volunteers to get involved. So, we’ve arranged for a weekend bike ride to an underprivileged neighborhood in Franklin!

Whether you’re doing it to see the excitment on these kids faces, or simply to participate in a refreshing bike ride through downtown Franklin, we hope you’ll enjoy this first time event!

When: Saturday, May 12th at 10am
Where: Darrell Waltrip Volvo Parking Lot
(exact meeting location in confirmation email)
1450A Murfreesboro Rd
Franklin, TN 37067

Have you considered using Hands on Nashville to help with spreading the news for volunteer needs/opportunites?
